What We Do & Our Locations

Free Your Mind’s mission is to support individuals that have experienced childhood Domestic Abuse and mental health issues as a result, with our current focus predominantly on the London Boroughs of Redbridge & Waltham Forest, and the City of Birmingham. We are commissioned by the London borough of Redbridge, Waltham Forest Solace Women’s Aid and offer support in Birmingham City Council and Children’s Trust. The majority of our service users are referred to us via professionals within those groups. For more information on the referrals process please see our guidance here.

Domestic Abuse takes many forms and affects children and young people in different ways, so our sessions are adapted to the needs of each individual. Through our support sessions we aim to give children and young people the tools they need to look after their own wellbeing, plus promote healthy relationships. Those who have grown up experiencing Domestic Abuse know and have seen life in ways others won’t, they know a pain and perspective so many never will. This is why all of our practitioners have lived experience of Domestic Abuse and can relate to all of our service users, acting as role models. Free Your Mind is here to empower children and young people – helping them overcome their trauma so they can live a fulfilled life, and thrive like their peers. Our services also extend further to provide support in school holidays, support for parents and families, local community work and much more. You can find out more about all of our services here.
